| What is Sinipiongi? Pronounced [C-Nip-ee-on-jee] IT is day of FUN for the entire family, community and caring people. Help comes from not only the Eel River Tribe but literally from the river waterways in Indiana. ( Wabash~ Eel River~Tippecanoe...) Several thing are happening on this first Saturday in August annually. Our Tribe along with other area Merchants and Volunteers provide a CANOE and KAYAK RACE or simply chose a FLOAT TRIP for those who do not wish to enter the water we provide , A FREE CONCERT, FREE GIFTS, FREE MEAL to ALL who wish to Attend EVERYONE (OPEN TO the General Public, non participants YOU DO NOT NEED TO ENTER THE WATER TO ATTEND) These OPEN PUBLIC Activities are held at our FINISH LINE beginning at 10:00 AM until 5:00PM WE DO NOT charge an Admission Fee but do request that all who attend make a voluntary donation of $2 per person or more or whatever you can give. IN return we will issue a GIFT CARD that contains a FREE GIFT . These might be a FREE MEAL, EVENT T-shirt, BUTTON, SELECTION of a FREE GIFT FROM our Gift Table or 1of 5 $1000 ON-Line Shopping Sprees. When you attend this year you will enjoy the Music of one of Indiana's Premier Entertainment group THE SOULD OUT BAND, Wanna Dance Band. They play a mix of Pop Top 40, Rhythm & Blues, Rock and Funk .CLICK the Link below to here their music sample. You will also meet members of The Indianapolis COLTS CHEERLEADERS who will be passing out Colts memorabilia and signing Autographs. There are Games for the Kids, Limited Vendors and more. | WANNA JOIN THE RACE OR FLOAT TRIP? We allow you to bring your own Canoe or Kayak either to Race or just float at your own pace. If you choose to enter the race we have two classes. CLASS #1: A TWO PERSON CANOE RACE competing for $300 FIRST PLACE $150 SECOND PLACE CLASS #2: Individual KAYAK First Place $150 Participants can bring their canoes/kayaks to the finish line on Saturday Aug 1st between 7:30 and 8:30 AM where we will have Transportation for your Canoes and Kayaks to the Starting point at (FRENCH POST PARK) There is plenty of Free Secure Parking at the Finish Line to leave your vehicles. If it is easier and you wish to transport your own canoe or Kayaks you may bring your boats to the Starting Line ( French Post Park or to the Finish Line) on Friday July 31st where we will have security overnight. You may bring your canoe or Kayak to either location between 4:00 PM until dark. DON'T HAVE A CANOE? With your entry fee will can provide you with a Canoe. We cannot provide kayaks. When you register a 2 person Canoe Team or as a Single Kayak we require a registration fee and waivers to be completed. These must be received by JULY 27th so we know how many Canoes we must rent and how many Transportation vehicles will be needed. Every entered participant receives a "Participants Pack" which includes sponsorship forms, FREE Gifts and more. Registration Fees For those entering the Water: ( Must be received or Post Marked by JULY 27th 2009) Canoe 2 Person Race Team with your own Canoe $25 Canoe 2 Person Non Racing Team with your own Canoe $25 Canoe 2 Person Race Team without your own Canoe $30 Canoe 2 Person Non Racing team without your own Canoe $30 Single KAYAK Racer $15 Single Kayak Non Racer $10 * All Participants are encouraged to collect sponsorships (details are inside your "Participants Packs") HOW DO I / We REGISTER?
